The machine starts but no paper was inserted.

Please check if the light barrier in the insertion shaft is dusty. You can clean this using a dry brush, a soft cloth or with compressed air. If the error cannot be solved by the described procedure, please contact our customer service.

The display "Cutting unit blocked" lights up; the machine was overloaded.

Please let the machine cool down for about 30 minutes before restarting it. If this does not remove the error, please contact our customer service.

The display "Cut paper container full" lights up.

Please empty the cut paper container. If the LED does not go out after emptying the container, please also check the bag full flap, which is at the bottom of the cutting unit. In the starting position, this points vertically downwards. If this does not remove the error, please contact our customer service.

The display "Container open/safety element pressed" is lit.

Please check that the cut paper container is inserted properly in the floor unit. There is a black magnet at the top-right inside the cut paper container. Please check that this magnet is in the gap that is provided for this purpose. Make sure that the safety element is not pressed and is properly engaged. If the LED is still lighting up, please contact our customer service.

The machine does not start when paper is fed in.

Please check that the safety element on the insertion slot is engaged. The machine switches off when pressure is applied to the safety element. Press the safety element downwards until it engages. If the safety element is engaged, please check that the collecting container is properly seated in the floor unit.  The machine should then work again. If the error cannot be solved by the described procedure, please contact our customer service.

The display "Cutting unit blocked" is flashing.

An error occurs during paper shredding. Please remove the paper from the cutting unit - also by using the "R" if necessary. If the error cannot be solved by the described procedure, please contact our customer service.

A paper jam occurred during shredding. The display element "Cutting unit blocked" lights up.

If a paper jam occurred, the cutting unit reverses for a few seconds and pushes the paper out. If necessary, the paper can be reversed by pressing the "R" key. If this does not remove the paper jam, soften the blockage with plenty of special cutting block oil for about 60 minutes. The paper can then be pressed down using a thin piece of cardboard. Please ensure that you machine is switched on while pressing down so that the engine can provide support in removing the blockage. If the paper jam cannot be removed by the described procedure, please contact our customer service.

The cutting performance of the file shredder is decreasing and an increasing noise is developing.

The cutting unit should be oiled if cutting performance decreases, a sound develops and after emptying the paper container. Inject the special oil over the entire width of the feed slot onto the blade shafts. Then, press the "R" key to reverse the cutting unit until all paper residues are released. The oiling of cutting units with strip cut improves the cutting performance and avoids squeaking noises resulting from jammed paper residues.
