Star Performer
09.03.2007 - ShredStar X5 from HSM is Highly Rated by Which? Magazine
Percentage points per pound, the ShredStar X5, from HSM, performed exceptionally well in the latest Which report on shredding machines. Achieving a rating of 81%, positioned the X5 third highest in the report. However, this was against much more expensive machines than the £35 street price of the ShredStar machine.
The reviewers from Which? magazine particularly commented on the ability to handle staples and the reverse function, in case of jams, standard on the X5, and noted that the ShredStar machine ‘sailed through our durability test, with flying colours, and we found it easy to use’.
The Shred Star range from HSM is particularly aimed at the SOHO user. The X5 is a crosscut machine that can shred up to eight sheets of A4 paper at once. It has a usefully sized bin capacity of eighteen litres, such that it does not have to be emptied too often.

Other models in the ShredStar range, from HSM, include the S5, strip-cut shredder and the Multi-shred. This latter model is a compact sized shredder that will destroy not only paper but also CDs/DVDs, diskettes, credit and debit cards etc.
