Now that recycled materials are transported over long distances, not only around the UK and Europe, but also overseas and as far afield as Asia, a high weight, yet compact bale makes economic sense. Bales of materials such as plastic and cardboard produced by the new V-Press 860 baler from HSM have an optimum size for shipment in either a 40 foot container or a curtain sided articulated trailer.
Measuring 1200 x 780 x 1200 mm (length x width x height) the bales can be stacked three high within a container or trailer. This significantly increases the amount of recycled material that can be shipped and so reduces transport and logistic costs.
The bales produced by the V-Press 860 can weigh up to 420 kg for cardboard and 500 kg for foil. This is thanks to a very high compression force acting on a platen over two thirds of the surface area, to provide a much denser bale than many other machines. The facility to tie the bales with either wire or tape further contributes to versatility.
As with all HSM balers, the new V-Press 860 has been designed with operator efficiency and safety in mind. A large opening with a sliding door means that material can easily be inserted into the baler. Meanwhile, the hand wheel lock and torsion control system, that avoids accidental overfilling of the chamber, ensure safe operation.
The V-Press 860 incorporates the latest electronic microprocessor controls. An LCD display indicates to the operator the current status of the machine. It can also provide valuable information to a service or maintenance engineer.
As the 860 is one of the new V-Press line of balers from HSM, the machine is weatherproofed and so suitable for use in external applications. For further details, please call HSM on 01543 272480, send an email to info@hsmuk.co.uk or visit their website at www.hsmuk.co.uk.
