The mill that is processing the cardboard waste provided by Fast Forward Recycling of Manchester is impressed. Indeed, they actually stated that they are the ‘best bales’ that they receive. The mill size bales particularly impress them because they are compact and well tied.

The bales are produced using a HSM VL500 vertical baler. Since installation, just eighteen months ago at Fast Forward Recycling, the machine is producing not only high quality bales but also high volumes. Over 4,000 bales have been produced in this time, often with the baler working 24 hours a day.

During this period, the VL500 has proved totally reliable. No down time at all has been lost despite the machine being worked close to capacity.

The VL500 incorporates many features to make it operator friendly. These include a large ergonomically positioned, loading apperture, hand-wheel operated slow-release mechanism on the door and the ability to install the wire ties from the front of the machine, thereby also saving precious floor space.

Safety is a high priority with the operator needing to use two hands to activate the hydraulic ram. Also, sensors immediately highlight any imbalance in the pressing mechanism, with indication provided by the LCD text display that constantly shows the machines status.
