2005-06-09 - GET INSIDE – New visitor record for HSM at IFAT 2005

With new records for the numbers of exhibitors and of visitors, one of the most important environmental technology trade fairs for HSM finished on 29th April 2005. Compared to the last IFAT in 2002, the numbers of visitors to HSM also increased significantly. Under the motto "Get Inside", numerous visitors were welcomed to the HSM stand to enjoy some specialist advice.

HSM's organisation team had some great ideas for this trade fair. This ranged from the design of the stand, with standardised dress for the stand team, through to the accompanying shows on the large, 200 m2 stand. This meant that HSM made a significantly better impression than its competitors did.
The latest designs of machines and a new series of presses were presented to an expert public. The new range of presses, V-Press, consists of vertical baling presses in a compact design. What stands out most is their excellent value for money.

To optimise pressing and to compensate for, or prevent, uneven filling, the V-Press machines are equipped with an inclination monitoring system for the press ram, known as the Torsion Control System (TCS). The V-Press 1160 eco, for example, reaches a bale weight of over 500 kg. These bales are ready to be sold and guarantee optimum truck loading. With a working height of less than 3 metres and occupying a floor space of approx. 2 m² it is well suited for confined spaces.

Each model in the V-Press line, in addition to the eco version, will also be available in a plus version with a sliding door and a max version with a sliding door and hydraulic door lock.

The presentation of the V-Press series was accompanied by the latest brochures, an interactive DVD, an attention-grabbing light show and, as the highlight of the introduction: body painting on the HSM stand. With all of these attractions, HSM drew the attention of many trade visitors.

The body painting artists produced changing motifs on the two models over four days. These were mostly parts from the V-Press models, but T-shirts worn by the models were also spray-brushed as free gifts for the visitors.

A positive side-effect of the body painting was the visit of a TV production company, who accompanied the two artists for a whole day as they worked. Mid/end of August, RTL will broadcast a 1 hour report where the HSM work can be seen.
The visitors actually paid as much attention to the presentation of the new DuoShredders 5750 in combination with a VK1005, as well as the brand new VK5512. The DuoShredder 5750 was conceived as a powerful document disposal system with automated destruction and, depending on the material, can process up to a useful throughput of 800 kg/h.

The VK5512 is an automatic channel baling press for automatic transport with automatic, 5-fold wire strapping. With a force of 560 kN, the press is particularly suited for pressing cardboard, foils and paper, but is also suited for packaging in Germany's DSD system and for PET bottles.

The VK5512 can be supplied as an "M" version, with a shear blade, or as a "V" version, with a pre-press flap.
Both machines were well received by the trade visitors. The introduction of these new products was supported by the latest presentation and sales documentation as well as, for example, an especially produced video with interviews of satisfied customers, and a shuttle service to an HSM customer, Breitsamer GmbH in München-Moosach, to see an HSM VK8515 live, in action. At the end of a very successful fair, HSM drew overall a very positive balance.
So, apart from having 50% more visitors when compared to IFAT 2002, particularly in the international area, many orders could be closed and new projects registered.
