Bangkok, Thailand. 30 HSM retailers and distributors and total of over 50 delegates in Bangkok, Thailand from 3 - 5 November. HSM partners from the Middle East, Oceania and the entire Asian area were invited. The focus was to present new products, new distribution and marketing strategies and swapping opinions and pooling experience.

Bangkok was the first choice of conference location as it is relatively central in Asia, is easy to reach and we have also enjoyed excellent relations with the Bangkok-based HSM importer for more than 15 years.This proved to be a good decision, as the companies invited turned up in numbers to the first HSM dealers' conference is Asia.
Before the conference was opened officially, there was a welcome dinner on the banks of the river during the evening of 3 November. Thai customers of HSM's trading partner, the Creatus Corporation, were the first to be able to view the new HSM products and to see also some of them demonstrated.
The conference started properly the next day with a welcoming speech by Irene Schwelling, Director Global Sales & Marketing. This was followed by presentations, discussions and seminars. As well
as the new strategic direction of the company and new products, there were also presentations of HSM's new international sales and marketing activities. Which were greeted with enthusiasm by all conference delegates. There was also broad approval for the online platform currently in planning – a comprehensive partner program for HSM dealers. Dietmar Dengler, Director Global Sales & Marketing, also impressed the participants with his presentation of the new company strategy which will see HSM change from being a wholly manufacturing-based organisation to becoming a global distributor.
During the conference there were many opportunities for conversations with sales directors and managing directors from HSM. This resulted in very constructive discussions among participants and established the conference as an important platform for exchanging information on international sales activities.
The conference concluded with a boat trip through Bangkok on the Chao Phraya river. The guests were able to embark directly from the hotel's own pier and then enjoy a relaxed evening with typically excellent Thai cuisine and music. The Creatus Corporation team played a significant part in the success of the conference. Their tireless efforts, combined with great enthusiasm and the friendliness for which the Thais are famed, ensured that their co-operation with the HSM organisers ran smoothly and that the logistics of the event were perfect throughout.

The participants and the HSM management team were completely unanimous on the final day: the first HSM Asia conference was a total success. Both participants and organisers were able to go home with many positive new ideas and memories. Irene Schwelling made the following promise: “We will be organising another Asia conference in two years!"
