2011-01-24 - The art of security at trade fair Paperworld

The SECURIO compact class, including both the C16 and C18 units, will be on view for the first time at this year’s Paperworld on the HSM exhibition stand in Hall 3.0, Booth D85. These two document shredders are compact entry-level devices best for use at home or a small office. Both devices are especially user-friendly and safe, as they are equipped with a security element that shuts the device down if pressed – for example, by children’s hands. Similarly, both shredders have an automatic reverse function so that paper jams can be easily and safely removed. Moreover, the C16 has a practical handle recess on the top that simplifies and facilitates emptying the collection container. Both shredders are equipped with zero-power consumption or economical energy management, designed to integrate harmoniously into the modern office environment – all, of course, “Made in Germany.”

HSM has taken the development of the shredder further for the contemporary office, putting the focus not only on reliable document destruction, but also on how it will provide that security.

In 2011, there will also be further innovations in the area of cutting machines. HSM is now at work on a series of cutting machines made with the new HSM quality. The first pieces of equipment for a roller cutter and guillotine will also be on display at the Paperworld show.

Data deletion or destruction of digital discs

Over the recent years, the destruction of digital data has become increasingly important. For this reason, HSM introduced the Digital Shredder in 2007, a portable IT multifunction device for the complete erasure of data on a hard drive. To complement this data erasure device, HSM now also offers a mechanical hard drive shredder, the HDS 230, for the complete destruction of hard drives. Now, hard drives and magnetic tapes up to 3.5", CDs/DVDs, floppy discs and USB sticks can be destroyed. The product can likewise be viewed at the Paperworld show.

The Southern German manufacturer has even conceived of destroying USB sticks by shredder. The SECURIO P44, the most powerful model in the SECURIO line among alternating-current devices, effortlessly destroys USB sticks in one working step.

The art of security

HSM’s innovations start the new year with this show theme. At the HSM stand, visitors
will learn all about the art of security – the new products are already anticipating their first exhibition. To go with the theme, there will be a contest on the subject of art, offering attractive prizes. Of course, business support as well as online tool expansion are of central importance.
