In the year 2008, an environmental management system was continuously expanded, introduced and implemented. The precondition for this functioning environmental management system was the involvement of the employees who were informed of the system and the environmental policy in training sessions. Already with the introduction of the environmental management system, a program with environmental goals was established that could already be implemented in the past year with success.

The management review at the end of the year confirmed for HSM that the system is functional, provides legal security and serves for the continuous improvement of the environmental aspects.

HSM has obligated itself with its environmental policy to reduce or prevent environmental effects at the sites. With this motto, HSM will also formulate in the year 2009 an environmental program that serves for the improvement of the measurable result such as, for example, energy consumption, generation of waste and the compliance with legal obligations, governmental regulations and requirements as well as the health and safety of the employees.
